Every print on this site is in the public domain: the artists died centuries ago, and the museums that photographed the prints released the photographs without restrictions.

Where they come from

  • The 1621 news sheet of the Prague execution, its details, the portraits of Kašpar Kaplíř, Kryštof Harant, Václav Budovec, Jan Jesenius and Count Buquoy, the 1620 battle sheet, the oath at Münster, the relief of Vienna and Jan Luyken’s etching: Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, released under CC0.
  • The defenestration, from the Theatrum Europaeum, and Wenceslaus Hollar’s long view of Prague: public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Each print’s page links to the source it was taken from.

Using them

You may use the prints for anything, including in class and in print, without asking. A credit to the museum is kind, not required.
